IMPORTANT UPDATE FROM NSNA - PLEASE READ BEFORE REGISTERING YOUR DAUGHTER TO PLAY FOR WGHSNC
The Northern Suburbs Netball Association (NSNA) held an emergency meeting to address court allocation challenges caused by construction works at Willoughby in 2025:
Top Car Park Closure: Willoughby Council will be using the top car park for construction works and storage throughout the netball season in 2025.
Lower Basketball Courts Reassigned: The lower basketball courts will be converted into temporary parking, further reducing the number of netball courts available.
This situation will place strain on the competition schedule on Saturdays.
To compensate for the reduction in courts at Small Street, the NSNA has secured extra courts at ADDITIONAL VENUES for games on Saturdays.
* Loreto - Kirribilli for Saturday AM Games
* Monte - North Sydney for Saturday PM Games
This means that ANY team from ANY club in ANY grade in Juniors, Inters or Seniors may play at one of these alternate venues instead of WLC and timings may differ to 2024 game times.
Optimally, it will be an entire division that is moved to a different location for the entire season, but we do know that it will be a division which has a team from that school in it.
We hope that any changes will be minimal and easily managed and we will of course do our best to work with you all on any solutions that might be required, once we know all the final details. However, if you feel you are unable to make your way to one of the alternate venues, or that a time change will affect your ability to play DO NOT REGISTER for the 2025 netball Season. Thank you for your understanding.
The WGHS P&C Netball Club Committee
Netball at WGHS
The WGHS P&C Netball Club (WGHSNC) was formed in 2001, initially comprising two (2) teams with 19 players, coached by dedicated parents.
Over the years, we have grown into a thriving community club, which in 2024 comprised 23 teams and over 210 girls, playing within the Northern Suburbs Netball Association (NSNA) winter competition. We had remarkable success with 13 teams reaching the Grand Final, and of those, ten (10) were crowned Grand Final Champions.
We believe in fostering a love for netball, and welcome players of all skill levels—from beginners to experienced players.
In addition to our teams, we offer comprehensive umpiring and coaching programs. These initiatives allow players to explore other roles within the sport, helping them develop both as leaders and mentors.
Our Club also offers parents the chance to get involved, connect with one another, and engage in their daughters’ sporting activities.
