BASKETBALL CLUB
Willoughby Girls’ High School P&C Basketball club had 3 teams in 2023 and strong player participation. We would love to increase the number of teams and girls playing basketball across all year groups in 2024. 2024 Trials and team selection take place in mid-January, with Competition 1 starting Week 1, Term 1. Basketball runs throughout the school year. U14 – U18 teams have 2 seasons that run by school semester (Terms 1+2 & Terms 3+4).
The commitment to the club/team is by school semester/competition. A team ideally has 8-10 players to ensure each player gets sufficient court time. We welcome new and experienced players alike.
NSBA Games: U14–U18 on Fridays from 4pm at Crows Nest & Willoughby Leisure Centre.
Training: The club offers before or after-school training with professional coaches, fun games & skill development. Training is usually at school on the under cover basketball court.
Costs:
· Local Association fees - NSBA (Basketball NSW) annual registration approx. $110. (NB to new players not already registered with NSBA this fee is payable only when advised by WGHS P&C Basketball prior to game 1.)
· WGHS P&C Basketball fee per competition is $400- $500 per team upfront (Cost covers insurance, club equipment, venue cost, game fees & professional coaching. Cost depends on number of players & teams).
· Uniform is supplied by WGHS P&C Basketball club - Cost approx. $50.
· Active Kids Vouchers are accepted, one per semester
