At Willoughby Girls High School students are encouraged to participate in sports. Team sports provide opportunities for physical and social development, while also developing sportspersonship and healthy attitudes to leisure pursuits and recreation. In addition to participating in our PDHPE Sport program students can be involved in competitive sports teams.
Graded Sport
During winter, students may be selected to join school grade teams, which compete against the five other public high schools in the North Shore zone. Willoughby Girls High School enters teams in:
· Soccer - Open & Under 15
· Netball – Open & Under 15
· Touch Football
· Volleyball
· Basketball
Knock Out Sport
Opportunities to participate in statewide CHS knockout competitions run by the NSW Combined High Schools Sports Association are also available to students. Willoughby Girls High School enters teams in:

Gala Days
In Year 7, Willoughby Girls High School students participate in Gala days organised under the auspices of the North Shore sports zone, to provide further skill development and team experience in a competitive format against other schools in the zone.
Club Sports
Willoughby Girls High School is proud to offer the largest range of sporting clubs outside school of any high school on the north shore. Girls have the opportunity to play netball, touch football, basketball or hockey (field and indoor) outside school. All of these clubs are run by parent volunteers.
